QR Challenge: Benbrook MS Tour

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.


B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

1. Fine Arts WingThe Fine Arts wing. You will notice that we have sound proof practice rooms. The band room, choir room, and orchestra room have space rooms for an office, instrument storage, and a music library. Each of these rooms has a door that leads to the auditorium. The art room has a private deck for students to use for inspiration.
2. Auditorium The auditorium seats 600. There is a sound booth and unbelievable sound system when it gets fired up.
3. The Main OfficeThe Main Office is truly a maze of wonders. There are endless offices, a clinic that would make Care Now take notice, storage areas, and a conference room fit for Donald Trump.
4. CafeteriaThe cafeteria comes complete with a stage just in case the students want to break out into an impromptu version of Glee or High School Musical. There is also a pizza oven to help your food get toasty.
5. Athletics Wing The athletic wing is complete with a workout facility, showers, 2- locker room for PE and athletics, and a variety of offices to chose from
6. Computer LabOur school has 3 computer labs for classroom use. Each one holds 25-35 students.
7. GymBenbrook Middle School has two gyms. The competition gym holds 600 students, has a screen to divide the space for PE, an amazing sound system, and the painting was done by the sam man who painted the Spurs court. There is also a practice gym with a rock climbing wall.
8. ConcessionsBenbrook MS has a full concession stand and a student store.
