1. I do not think Both authors are alike in these two passages. In "2009 Yonge Innovations Under 35" Jamie Tevan is more into technology and computer base information "…key ideas is that search engines can employ information" Jamie is using the web to find out news, information on someone. In "Digital Dad versus Dinosaurs." The author would rather have information given to her through the newspaper. "As the internet exploded, my father took a certain satisfaction in being right" She grew up with her father being a worker at a news paper print and reading about what's going on there | Zero The idea presented for "2009 Young Innovators Under 35: Jamie Trevan, 32" is reasonable. However, the student presents and idea that is not an answer to the question asks because the idea compares Teevan to the author of "Digital Dad Versus the Dinosaurs," not Barry Bingham, Jr. Therefore, this response is insufficient. | 2. What both Jamie Teevan and Barry Bingham Jr have in common is they both have great work ethic and determination. They both dedicated their work career to transforming technology. They also both helped advance and promote the use of the internet. Teevan helped create Bing and Bingham helped make it possible to read the newspaper online.2 | One The student presents the reasonable analysis that both Jaime Teevan and Barry Bingham, Jr., dedicated their careers to transforming technology and advancing the use of the internet. However, no text evidence is present.2 | 3. In the story's "2009 Yong Innovators Under 35" and in "Digital Dad Versus Dinasaurs" don't have nothing in common. Because in "2009 Young Innovators" it says "were trying to improve the search in story." And in the story "Digital Dad versus Dinasaurs" it says "Is like the last Dinasaur in the swamp."3 | Zero Although text evidence from both selections is provided, the student does not offer an explanation as to why Jamie Teevan and Barry Bingham, Jr. don't have anything in common. The simple assertion, without explanation, does not constitute a reasonable idea, because no explanation is present.3 | 4. Something Jamie Teevan in "2009 Yong Innovators 35: Jamie Teevan, 32" and Barry Bingham, Jr. in "Digital Dad Versus the Dinosaurs" is that they both use technology. Jamie Teevan "…studies the ways people navigate the flood of information available in the digital age and builds tools to help them handle it." While Barry Bingham, Jr. "…hatched his vision of what he called the 'electronic newspaper'" Both of the people in these stories used their knowledge of technology to better the world. 4 | Two The student presents the reasonable that both used their knowledge of technology to better the world. Bingham predicted that digital news will come during his "25th college reunion" He was able to predict a electronic age even though oct people never even heard of computers or internet. Both Teevan and Bingham did something very amazing during their time. 6 | One The student offers the reasonable idea that both Teevan and Bingham were ahead of their time and further explains how this idea is evident in each selection. Although the inclusion of paraphrased text from "Digital Dad Versus the Dinosaurs" supports the idea that Bingham is progressive, the direct quotation from "2009 Yong Innovators Under 35: Jamie Teevan, 32" is too partial to claim that Teevan came up with a modern idea. Because the idea is not fully supported with relevant textual evidence from both selections, this response is a basic performance.6 | 7. Yes, I believe that Barry and Jamie have things in common. In this passage Teevan tries to find news ways so that the internet can not only make things faster to find out but making your life that much easier. Barry also tried to do this. In "Digital Dad Versus the Dinosaurs, "Barry Tried to modernize his work office also to keep up with the world. "In 1973 he began replacing typewriters with word processors." "[Also] under his management, the news paper was at the vanguard of technological change." Even back then in the 1970's Barry realized that the world was changing and you have to keep up.7 | Three In this exemplary response, the student presents the perceptive idea that Teevan and Bingham were visionaries who enacted change in the world.
