QR Challenge: The Yr 10 PE AMAZING RACE-Tuesday

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.


B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

When you reach this location you need to take a photo on the playground. One member must be holding the position a plank, one member must be standing on one foot and one must be doing a star jump (feet off the ground) all at the same time. 4. question4 You have now been running the 1.6km course for 4 years. Head to the correct turn around point and take a photo of your group at this location but along the way you must also take a photo of a short cut that you have taken in the 4 years of doing the 1.6km course.1.6km Turn around
5. question5 BEEP BEEP BEEP….The school is being evacuated. You must head to the place where you would cross to Burnley Oval if you were in the Info Centre. At this location you must recreate a safe crossing video. You must include the phrase: ‘Look right, look left and look right again’. 6. question6 OK so you have crossed the road safely now head to the place where all children would run to. At this location stage a Where’s Wally photo with three members of your group plus your team mascot.Burnley playground

You jump in the shower, get changed, have some breakfast, put your homework in your bag and you are on your way to school. Lunch comes around and….you have forgotten to pack lunch this morning.
