1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.
2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to
4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.
1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.
2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.
3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!
4. A detailed case study in how to set up a successful QR Scavenger Hunt using this tool can be found here.

1. 1- What is a 2D QSAR model or 2D QSAR equation? | It is mathematical equation that correlates different physicochemical properties with the activity (potency) of the molecule | 2. 2- Physicochemical properties (descriptors) can be subdivided into three categories | 1- Hydrophobic properties 2-Electronic properties 3-Steric properties | 3. 3- Physicochemical properties are also called descriptors. True or false? | True | 4. 4- In order to choose descriptors for your QSAR model, you click on the database viewer window: compute --> Descriptors. True or false? | True | 5. 5- In order to check correlation between different descriptors, you click compute --> analysis --> Correlation plot. True or false? | False | 6. 6- You call a molecule an outlier when its Z-Score is less than 2.5. True or false? | False | 7. 7- The resultant QSAR equation (QSAR model) can be used to ........ (complete the sentence). | to predict the activity of different compounds. | 8. 8- You decide the maximum number of descriptors (relative importance of descriptors) based on the rule......(complete the sentence). | Each 5 molecules in the database get 1 descriptor. | 9. 9- You decide two descriptors are highly correlated when....
