China One Child Policy
It was introduced in 1979 designed to decline fertility rate.
Measure taken by the way population is changing, in this case the gorvernment is trying to decline the growing population in China. Policy is controlled by government the quantity that would best fit for the country.
China is a country in East Asia with population over 1.3 billion.
China became home to a quater of the world's population that
was when one child policy was born.
OFFERS AND PENALTIES
Government offers generous founds to encourage couples having
one child:
-Higher wages
-Interest free-loans
-Retirement founds
-Priority housing and school enrollment
-If that one child is a girl, parents would be allowed to have a second child in order
to hopefully bear a son (in this case parents will not get fined)
The goverment also came up with penalties in order to discourage
people having more than one child:
-Fines from €276 up to €9512
-Pressure to abort pregnancy
-Confiscated belongings
-Getting fired from work
ADVANTAGES OF THE ONE CHILD POLICY
-China has prevented 400 million births
-Men and women have been working hard over the past 30 years.
-China is now one of the most powerful countries in the world, it is a half a
century a head compared with other developed large population countries.
DISADVANTAGES OF THE ONE CHILD POLICY
-Fertility rate 1.7-1.8 below of 2.1 the average fertility rate, 2.1 is to keep
population stable
-Numbers of serious demographic problems in the future
-Women are illegally forced to have late term abortion and sterilllised
-China will face ageing population
