-Free appropriate education for students with disabilities
-Protect against discrimination
IDEA 2004
- Disability that is determined and affects academics qualifies them for special education services
ADA
-Disability must impact one or more major life activity
-These activites are things such as taking care of themselves, walking, etc.
-If child has a 504, they may remain in classroom and still recieve special education
-Not all students with a disability will qualify for special education
-Requires schools to follow non discrimination laws
-Provide accommendations for every student with and witout a disability
