They arressted T.J for something he didn't do.
They tried to kill Papa because he didn't go to the Wallace store.

They had mobs and would kill black people for wronging the law.
They would burn and kill people who wronged the law.
They burned black people. Anything they thought black people did, they would kill them for.
Mildred Taylor is very authentic in the book, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. This is because in real life whites would kill black people for anything they thought was wrong. In the text they killed the Berry's and attempted to kill Papa. To conclude, Mildred Taylor is very authentic because she accurately portrayed lynching in the text.
