An emotional issue that involve fear of failure and self doubt when enagaging in Math.

Students performs well on homework and classwork, but not on tests.

Nervousness about engaging Math can cause Students to have anxiety even though they can answer most problems correctly.

Dyscalculia

An Learning disability that that cause difficulty in understanding concepts related to numbers.

Dyscalculia causes students to misindentify math symbols and telling left from right.

Not a sign of low intelligence.

Both can cause students to become less confident, causing them to avoid math class and situation involving calculations

Both can be overcome oe lessened with multisensory instruction.


Accomondations such as extended time for tests, using manipulatives and using assistive technology such as calculators can help students overcome both Math Anxiety and Dyscalculia.
