Child Labor during the Industrial Revolution

Most children during the Industrial Revolution, some as young as six years, would work in factories, mills, and other large industrial businesses.

They would work on factory lines or they would act as coal miners or people who gathered materials for their mill.

A family of two parents and seven siblings, but they would go to a factory, a sweatshop, and scrape chimneys for a living.

Child Labor Today

There are still plenty of child workers today, about 218 million, working in factories or in other jobs, even though it's less common in many other countries.

Many child jobs today involve agriculture, manufacturing, mining, retail, and many other, worse things.

Binod used to work in a carpet factory where he would work 15-hour shifts tying knots all day.

These children were and still are working because they are obedient in order to get their money, even though they aren't paid much.
