Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

• Download a QR reader (e.g. I-Nigma | NeoReader | Kaywa) onto their mobile devices
• Bring these devices into the lesson.

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

6. Face the stairs, turn left, turn right, take the second turning on the right. Mind the two steps and at the end of the corridor turn left, go past the lockers and look for an orange flowerpot.	ground2
7. Find 7.C. Face the boys‘ toilets. Turn around, follow the exit sign till you come to the director’s office. Don’t knock! Just find, what you are looking for.	first1
8. The office is behind you. Turn right, go down the stairs, down again, go through the flip door and look how many teachers we have here in the school. The QR code in here, too.	first2
9. Find 9.B. Face the window, turn left, go along and on the corner turn right. Go straight on till you see a big plant. Také the second turning down the stairs. Look for the code. Bart will help you.	second1
10. Go up the stairs, turn right, go along the corridor till you come to 8.B. Turn left and go to the girls‘ toilets. Turn around and you can see what you need. The QR code is on the fire distinguisher.	second2
11. Go out of this classroom and face the window. Turn right and go past the wall till you come to the staircase. Go down the stairs, look out of the middle window and turn around. Go down the stairs to 7.A. Turn 180° and go straight on. You are standing next to 3 big plants. Turn right and go down the stairs again and face the flip door. Turn right and go past 3 benches, turn left and look at the heating.	stairs1
12. Go back to the staircase, go completelly up, turn left, go past our classroom and 6.B and look at the bench bellow the window.	stairs2
13. Find „Jiraskovy sady Hradec Kralove“ and „Hradec Kralove hlavni nadrazi“. Add the tour to your map and find out how FAR is it and how much TIME do you need to WALK the distance.	Q1
