Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

3. If I am absent, where do I look to get the work I missed?(C) Look in the your class folder at the back of the room on the homework board.
4. If I need a ruler, where should I go?(D)Look on the side of the green file cabinet in the far right corner of the classroom.
5. I lost a handout/worksheet that was given out in class. I need a new one in order to do the assignment. Where in the classroom will I find extra copies of classroom handouts/worksheets?(F) Look in the bin, on the desk, under the homework board. Make sure to check the bin for your specific subject!
6. I need to borrow some loose-leaf paper, where should I look?(G) Look in the bin, on the book case to the right of the stereo. Loose-leaf paper is in the bottom bin.
7. I have to go to the bathroom, where do I sign out and find the hall pass?(H) You sign out on the green sign out sheet located on the desk when you first walk in. The hall pass is hanging by the door on a white hook.
8. I forgot to do my homework and know I need to fill out a "pink slip" for the missing assignment. Where do I get a "pink slip"?(I) Look in the bin, on the book case to the right of the stereo. Pink slips are located in the first bin.
9. I need to borrow a vocabulary workbook/grammar text book. Where do I look?(J) Look in the bin at your group of desks. Make sure to put the book back when you are done using it.
10. I earned 3 Dragon Dollars today. Where do I put the white copy so I can be entered in the Dragon Dollar raffle?(K)The Dragon Dollar drop in located on the book case in the front of the room. It is the purple bucket and is labeled "Dragon Dollar Drop".
