Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

1. 1.You have landed on Reptilia Island at (12,5), head south 3 points, and west 6 points. Don't get lost in the Grassy Hills!(6,2)
2. 2.Once you have climbed your way out of the Grassy Hills, walk north 3 points, and west 3 points. Do you feel that? It's the heat from the Lava Pools!(3,5)
3. 3.When you have dodged the hot liquid from the Lava Pools, head west 6 points, and north 1 point. Do you see that palm tree? It's the highest palm tree known!(-3,6)
4. 4.Walk west 4 points, east 2 points, south 1 point, north 2 points, west 2 points, and south 1 point. Pretty confusing... :P.(-7,6)
5. 5.Head north 1 point, west 2 points, and south 1 point. You should start to see a lake in the horizon. That is the Dragon's Eye, a mysterious , bottomless lake.(-9,6)
6. 6.Head north 2 points and stop. This is the Tear Falls, legend has it that the water drops in the falls are the purest water in the world. I know this sounds crazy, but walk through the waterfall, and what you will see, is a treasure beyond degree.(-9,8)
7. 7.You should start at (12,5), and find the treasure at (-9,8)(-9,8)
