QR Challenge: Period 5's Adjective Hunt

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.


B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

1. I have three white boards and four windows. Here you can get really sweaty while watching a movie. You can go in one way and out another. Look out the window and see a giant orange ball. There is a big electrical panel on the east wall that makes a low humming noise. There are two lights on the ceiling and one sprinkler. This room has a tiled floor. 4. In this place you will find things along the north wall, you will find bleachers. There is about a 4' lift onto a 2nd level, it is the color of midnight! It has a curtain the is just before midnight color. There are 5 sets of doors! (An ugly brown) There may be a sunshiny yellow mat on the 2nd level. Also this place has a fire engine red fire putter outer. On the ceiling there are 24 rectangular bright lights. There are 6 basketball hoops. On the west wall there is a flag. Also 2 sky blue score boards, and 2 sets of sky blue mats on the wall Little GYm
5. Inside this place, there are people playing. It is a loud room, with feet pounding against the floor. The walls are white and gray with lots of blue and gold. It has a strong smell of wood. It is warm and filled with noise. It is where we watch games. gym
6. This place feels relaxing and clean. Most of the time it is quiet, but some times you can hear kids. This place is big and usually organized. One wall is blue and one wall is tan brick. One wall is mostly windows.The carpet is blue. In this room there are computers, tables, and shelves. library
7. Inside this place there are people playing. It is loud with feet pounding against the floor. The walls are white and gray with lots of school colors. The smell of wood is strong, it feels warm and has lots of school pride. It is filled with noise and it is where we watch the big games. gym
8. I'm very dark and quiet, but sometimes very loud. When I'm on there I'm not quiet, but usually very proud. I have a four black floor, and at least four doors. I'm located in the middle school end, and it's very loud when you win. My curtains are blue and many people can be there too. the stage
