## A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

• Bring these devices into the lesson.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

## B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

### Question

1. Acute angle: Any angle with a measure that is less than 90°. 1
2. Right Angle: Any angle with a measure that is exactly 90°.1
3. Obtuse Angle: Any angle with a measure that is more than 90°, but less than 180°.1
4. Straight Angle: Any angle with a measure that is exactly 180°.1
5. Reflex Angle: Any outer angle, on the opposite side of the interior angle that you usually measure.1
6. Adjacent Angles: Any angles that are next to each other, these angles will add up to 180°.1
7. Congruent: Any shapes or angles that are the same shape and size are said to be congruent.1
8. Vertical (or opposite) Angles: Any angles that are across from each other, these angles will be the same.
9. Equilateral Triangle: Any triangle that has three equal sides.
10. Right Triangle: Any triangle with one angle that measures exactly 90°.
11. Isosceles Triangle: Any triangle that has two equal sides.
12. Scalene Triangle: Any triangle with no equal sides.
13. Tessellations: An arrangement of repeated, closed shapes that completely covers a surface, without overlaps or gaps.1
14. Regular Tessellation: A tessellation with shapes that are congruent regular polygons.1
15. Tessellation Vertex: the point where vertices meet in a tessellation.1
16. Tesselate: Tessellations that polygons overlap or there is a gap in the esign.1
17. Diameter: The measure across the circle from side to side and going through the middle, it is twice the radius.1
18. Radius: The measure of the distance from the center point to the edge of the circle, it is half the diameter.1
