QR Challenge: BDay Scavenger Hunt

Created using the ClassTools QR Treasure Hunt Generator

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

Question

Answer

1. Daddy told me how much you love scavenger hunts! The first clue is where I had my first bottle, do you remember mommy?lazyboy
2. Good job! You remembered daddy was feeding me my first bottle back here, because I kept looking for you and your milks! The 2nd clue is around the area we took our first family photo together (at home), do you remember mommy?livingroom
3. Good job! I remember how tired you guys were, and how I was crying my eyes out not really sure where we were, I had just had my first ever car ride, and had no clue what was going on! The 3rd clue is hard to remember fully because I was just barely a little peanut, but this clue was where daddy surprised my godfather Travis about the most exciting news of 2020! Do you remember mommy?kitchen
4. Good job! Travis was so shocked\surprised! And had no clue! I remember mommy feeling a sense of relief as more people started learning about me, so you guys didn’t have to keep me a secret anymore! The 4th clue is even harder to remember fully, because I was only about 0.04 inches long, the size of a poppy seed! Mommy had to take so many tests to make sure I was really me (silly mommy), and she had to wait ALL DAY until Daddy got home and told Daddy right in the middle of where the next clue is! Do you remember mommy?basement
5. Good job! Daddy was so so so excited, he couldn’t believe it was so easy! He told me he was a little sad it happened so fast, because he was hoping to keep practicing a little longer, idk what that means though. Anyways…The 5th and final clue is really close to where you can hear the sounds of the ocean, right now! Can you figure out where mommy?averysroom
