QR Challenge: FIND NOBLE BONES

Created using the ClassTools QR Treasure Hunt Generator

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

8. Walk back in time while enjoying this rhyme, to an era that stands still and still uses a quill. You will find me atop pine straw tucked in really tight, in a place that we like to lie at night. If it sounds too peaceful on your strut towards a hut, listen hard for a clatter…or maybe just climb the ladderMary Bones Week 2
9. Starting this endeavor you must think hard, be clever, walk through the big door, you’ll appear in the gift store. There I am hiding, I can see you down there turning about, I am just up here hanging out while you use the clues and act like a scout. Don’t forget when I came to Wormsloe I was a foreigner, the best place to hide may be a cornerSarah Bones Week 3
10. You must go for a walk, down to the water, you will see the old house I built for my wife, son and daughter. Once you are there, it might look worn and shabby, don’t let that fool you, the walls are made of tabby. You will find me keeping guard, so please stay behind the red fence in order to protect my yardNoble Bones Week 3
11. Walk towards the west and you will find me at my best. On your trek watch out for stinging nettle, but don’t look too hard your main goal is metal. You may need to remove my “cover” to uncover meNoble Bones Week 4
14. We are some of the oldest in the park, planted even before Lewis and Clark. Not made of mortar and bricks, we exist in a group of six. Across from us you will find a small cannon, it was made for an Atlantan. Our bodies are strong and our limbs quite longSarah Bones Week 4

17. Start within the visitor center, this is Wormsloe’s epicenter. You’ll need to stand by the desk, from that point you will see me looking statuesque. You need to look out of the window, in order to find me, Noble Bone’s window. I am quite spry so maybe you should look up highSarah Bones Week 5
18. Finally out of the ships galley I now reside at the end of the Oak Alley. Look for what seems like a wooden cage, located upon what looks like a stage. It is a large box with few or no locks. I like to hide but by no means can I be your scavenger hunt guideNoble W. Bones Week 5
19. Walk to the south near what used to be the “Back River’s” mouth. This area is quite calm and full of many palm. My loyalties lie with King George the crowned, so you will find me above the ground. As Georgia’s sheriff I fight against crime, but in my free time I like to climbNoble Bones Week 5
