Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

• Download a QR reader (e.g. I-Nigma | NeoReader | Kaywa) onto their mobile devices
• Bring these devices into the lesson.

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

1. Question 1 This is the place where you begin your adventure, but first write the name of the building where you found this clue before you venture.
2. Question 2 Shhh in this area, no talking or yelling. Enter quietly and photograph yourself with your favourite piece of writing.
3. Question 3 This is the spot where you'll find something to eat, write down the food on this week's specials list.
4. Question 4 Throw up the basketball, let's hope you don't miss. Record a trick shot, hear it go swish.
5. Question 5 This is the place to hand in a note, sign in or out, or go for a sore throat. Get the peer support student to sign a letter you just wrote.
6. Question 6 This is the staffroom of PE and Health. Take a photo of the equipment and oneself.
7. Question 7 Welcome to the year 7 area. This is the place where you'll be every break, therefore a song must be sung and recorded to continue to partake.
8. Question 8 The Multi Purpose Hall (MPH) is one for the occasion, write the first four lines of the Australian National Anthem.
