John Peter Berger
·I was born on November 5th,1926.·I am a British writer, art critic and painter.
·My father SJD Berger, was an infantry
officer on the Western Front during World War I, he was a hero.
He also served in the British Army from 1944 to 1946.
·An anarchist from the age of fifteen, he dropped out of Oxford Preparatory at sixteen and studied at the Central School of Fine Arts.
My first novel was: A painter of our time, it was criticized for its sympathies with pro-Soviet Hungary.
· received the Booker Prize for my G novel, donating my profits in part to the Black Panthers. In 1962 I left England and settled in a small town in the French countryside.
I have three children
