I was born in Steventon the 16th of December of 1775.
I'm the 7th of 8 brothers. My dad, George Austen was the rector of the church of Steventon.
My family loved reading and I really enjoyed reading in the library of my father.
In 1795 I started writing as a hobby short stories, poems and theatre scripts.
I was writing The Watsons when my father got sick, so I stopped writing for a few years. He died in 1805 and we had economical problems.
I write romance, realistic and funny novels that show the quotidian problems of people, the education of the woman, the society... I have written books like: Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility.
