WELCOME TO KNOWING YOUR ANGLES
This animated cube will help you explore the many different types of angles and how they are used in equations
Complementary Angles
Complementary angles are two angles that add up to a total of 90 degrees. We can use the idea of complentary angles to help solve when we do not know one the angles but know the other one
Supplementary Angles
Suppplementary angles are two adjacent angles that add up to 180 degrees. These can be used very similar to complementary angles when trying to find the degree of a missing angle.
Vertical Angles
Verticle Angles are two angles that are opposite of each other when two lines intersect. Verticle angles are always equal to each other. These can be helpful when complementary angles and supplementary angles are not avaible.
Alternate Interior Angles
When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the Transversal), the pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but inside the two lines are called Alternate Interior Angles. These are used when trying to solve problems with multiple missing angles.
Co-Interior Angles
When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the Transversal), the pairs of angles on one side of the transversal but inside the two lines are called Consecutive Interior Angles. These angles are NEVER equal but ALWAYS add up to 180 degrees.
