Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

1. Go to the compass and turn North, You will find a picture of past and present Teachers of the year. Just below you will find your clue.
2. Head to the compass and go West proceed to Mr. Faircloth's Headquarters, before you enter look to the right and you will find your clue.
3. Head to the compass and go east, look for Mr. Einstein this is where you will find your clue.
4. If you were to get a music lesson you would go to this classroom, Do not enter for if you do you have gone to far, the code is at the entrance.
5. Proceed to Room 20, look for the many ways to say "Hello" your clue is there.
6. Teachers eat lunch too! Go to THEIR lunchroom and find the code at the entrance.
7. This teacher teaches 3rd grade, she has a welcome sign outside of her door, it is there you will find your clue.
8. We have been collecting soda can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, find out where they are collected and you will find your next code.
9. Mrs. Leslie teaches first grade in Room 16, find the word PERSEVERANCE and you will find the next clue.
10. Not feeling well? This is where you would go to find the next code.
