1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.
2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to
4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.
1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.
2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.
3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!
4. A detailed case study in how to set up a successful QR Scavenger Hunt using this tool can be found here.

1. What is the definition of a force? | 2. True or False? Every object in the universe attracts every other object. | 3. When the mass of an object increases (gets bigger), does the force of gravity increase (get stronger) or decrease (get weaker)? | 4. When the mass of an object decreases(gets smaller), does the force of gravity increase (get stronger) or decrease (get weaker)? | 5. When two objects are spread far apart, is the force of gravity between them strong or weak? | 6. When two objects are very close together, is the force of gravity between them strong or weak? | 7. The strength of the force of gravity depends on what two factors? | 8. Please define mass. | 9. Please define weight. | 10. As you travel from planet to planet, does your mass change or stay the same? Why? | 11. As you travel from planet to planet, does your weight change or stay the same? Why? | 12. Why is the moon pulled more strongly toward the Earth than the sun, even though the sun has much more mass than the Earth? | 13. Please define inertia. | 14. What two factors cause an orbit? | 15. Please define Newton\'s First Law of Motion. | 16. Please give an example of inertia, such as in a sport. | 17. What causes gravity? (Think of the tablecloth demonstration in class) | 18. How would the motion of the Earth change if the sun disappeared? Why would this happen? | 19. Imagine a dining room table covered with a tablecloth, dishes and silverware. Some magicians can pull out the tablecloth without the dishes and silverware falling to the ground. Please explain how this is possible by using the idea of inertia. | 20. What are two ways to stop the orbit of a planet? | 21. You visit 3 different planets in our solar system. Please explain why your mass would stay the same, but your weight would change. | 22. Why would your weight be more on Jupiter than on Mercury (Jupiter has more mass than Mercury)? | 23. How would the moon\'s orbit change if the Earth became much more massive? |
