QR Challenge: Team 8

Created using the ClassTools QR Treasure Hunt Generator

Teacher Notes

A. Prior to the lesson:

1. Arrange students into groups. Each group needs at least ONE person who has a mobile device.

2. If their phone camera doesn't automatically detect and decode QR codes, ask students to

3. Print out the QR codes.

4. Cut them out and place them around your class / school.

B. The lesson:

1. Give each group a clipboard and a piece of paper so they can write down the decoded questions and their answers to them.

2. Explain to the students that the codes are hidden around the school. Each team will get ONE point for each question they correctly decode and copy down onto their sheet, and a further TWO points if they can then provide the correct answer and write this down underneath the question.

3. Away they go! The winner is the first team to return with the most correct answers in the time available. This could be within a lesson, or during a lunchbreak, or even over several days!

C. TIPS / OTHER IDEAS

Question

Answer

1. Singing, dancing, having fun is the name of the game in here, as WBMS shows off their most talented students ever year.
2. There is only one outside door to the building that you have a key to (besides the one in front). Check in the parking lot outside of this door if you want to continue your hunt.
3. Eighth graders come here to do experiments and learn new stuff, but sometimes kids don’t like to come because the skills are really tough.
4. If you can’t stay out of trouble, and need a special room to go, this teacher’s room is a place to teach new behaviors and learn how to grow.
5. Those 6th grade teachers love to work and make coffee and chill their food, but kids aren’t allowed in there because that would be super rude.
6. 7th graders lose their stuff all the time, which is a mystery to many. Especially when in locker #???, there is room aplenty. You can find the three digits of the locker # by answering the following three math questions: 1) The value of b in the slope intercept equation of y=3x+2. 2) Solving the equation -6x + 9 -3x = -45. 3) Solving for the rise in the slope taken from the coordinates (50,300); (100,400). You’ll get the order of the digits by adding them together from left to right you get a sum of 10.
7. Sweet sounds of horns, woodwinds, and base come from this room. And sometimes you can stand outside and hear a voice yelling and their voice goes BOOM!
8. Say what?!? There’s a new #####?? Teachers will be thrilled! This place will be a little farther away, but all your technology needs will now be fulfilled.
9. Sometimes teachers come in here to borrow kickballs and Frisbees from the rack. The only thing you have to know is that you have to put them back!
10. Many kids need to come here for help when they’re having a hard day. And teachers come here often during TCAP to see what jobs they’ll get today.
11. Did one of your kiddos bump their head or get hurt in your sight? Then you will want to report to this person for an accident report to make sure you do all the paperwork just right
12. LAST CLUE: Yellow Jackets get hungry and there is only one place to go. The students get hungry, too, and all sit in neat little rows.
