Overview

As part of a ‘choose your own homework‘ menu, give students the option to produce a set of limericks to help them memorise some key events, dates or individuals.

Case Study

Here’s an example produced by one of my students when the homework was simply ‘choose a topic from our GCSE studies that you are not currently confident on, and produce any resource of your choice that will help you revise it more effectively for the exam’:

Taking it further

As with all ‘choose your own homework‘ exercises, it is a good idea to adopt a matching ‘choose your own mark scheme‘ activity to accompany it.

Some students may prefer to write a Bio-Poem rather than a limerick.
