Are you ready to play a quick game of

MATH GEEK Brainy Box?

It's an easy game that let's you chase around the cube in an attempt to get to the end box for a prize.

Yes, you can cheat.  But what is the fun in that?

The only way to truly find out who played the game is to know the secret code

which is known only to the game controller (in this case, it is Mrs. Z. ).

The SECRET code is the order that you see the different colors of the cube.  Starting with this one:

#1  RED starting side

What will  be next?  Keep track of the color order as you visit a different side of the cube.  Don't worry if you visit a side of the cube more than one time.  See you at the end!

#2 color will depend on the answer to the next question:

HERE IT IS:

4y - 12 = -4

GO TO YELLOW if you think the answer is y = 11

GO TO GREEN if you think the answer is y = 2

GO TO CYAN if you think the answer is y = -4

GO TO BLUE if you think the answer is y = -13

So, you think this is the right one, huh?

Well, you may be right.  I think I will reward your hard work with a picture ...

probably not the one you would like to see, but it will lead you to your next color.

Here you go!

During which time period did Vermont's urban population increase the most?

GO TO BLUE if yo think the answer is 1940 - 1950

GO to CYAN if you think the answer is 1950 - 1960

GO TO GREEN if you think the answer is 1970 - 1980

GO TO RED if you think the answer is 1980 to 1990

WOW! So you chose this one, huh?

OK, but this one is one of those tricky ones that involve that weird little sign we all know and love!

Click on the pi sign if you feel you need a little laugh before the question, but remember to hit the back button when you are done!

Here goes:

What is the approximate circumfrence of a circle with a radius of 6.5 meters.  Use 3.14 or pi.

GO TO CYAN if you think the answer is 13 meters.

GO TO BLUE if you think the answer is 20.4 meters.

GO TO YELLOW if you think the answer is 40.8 meters.

GO TO PINK if you think the answer is 132 meters.

How about some reading time? Yes, this is like FREE PARKING in Monopoly.

Just enjoy the COMIC and move on to the color at the bottom.

OK, that is a JOKE!  Of course all of us Math Geeks have friends!  Right?

GO TO PINK

Want some more reading fun?  Well, if you want to come back and look through some quotes when you are done with the game, just click here:

" QUOTES"

You can click through several quotes by hitting the 'next quote' in the lower left hand corner.

Found your way to the blue side!

Hopefully you are supposed to be here ...

Well, let's go for an ultra-challenging question since I'm sure the others have been quite easy.

Well, maybe.  That one we did before the other one when we went to the color before but after the one we did seond was REALLY hard  .... just kidding!

Maria earned $126 in interest from her savings account. If she invested $450 for 7 years, what was the interest rate?

GO TO PINK if you think the answer is 3.5%

GO TO CYAN if you think the answer is 4.0%

GO TO YELLOW if you think the answer is 4.5%

GO TO GREEN if you think the answer is 5.0%

NOW IT IS TIME TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE!

Click on the link to take you to BRAINPOP where you will be able to watch a free video of your choice.  There are 7 categories and 3 videos in each category.  That means that there is a 1/21 probability that you will pick Shakespeare

Hope you enjoyed playing this MATHGEEK Brainy Box!

Maybe Mrs. Z. will like this so much that she won't make me take any more of the Weekly Checkpoints or Work Samples.  What do you all think?

If YES, go enjoy the video and have a nice day.

If NO, go back to the red side of the cube and start again!
