A star is a huge ball of hot,
glowing gases.
Stars give off huge amounts
of different kinds of energy.
Some of this energy is light energy.
When we see stars in the night sky,
they look like very small points of light because they are very far away.
Stars can have different sizes and colors.
Their color depends on how hot they are.
Some stars are very bright,
but some are much dimmer.
Some stars are hotter than others.
Some stars are cooler than our sun.
Blue stars are very hot,
and red stars are cooler.
Yellow stars are medium-sized stars.
