Preparation 
The bike was oiled greased. A new chain was added and the bike was fixed.
Dad asked his friend Rob to accompany him 
Hardship and challenges 
The steep gradient of 10% 
Desire for pride for dad as he is completing a difficult journey while steeping into an older age.
The exhaust fumes irritates nostrils 
Father’s reaction 
Desire to go on the journey and challenge himself once more with new gears
Dad is disappointed that he could not finish the ride uphill 
Amused by seeing his own achievement of completing most of the journey
Father’s reaction 
Grateful that I had taken the video so he would always remember the mistakes he made 
He cries as he remembers the struggles of the end
He recognises his youthfulness is now gone and strive to train more for a next ride
