Those with the right mix of DNA survive and can pass on their traits and characteristics.

Mutations can have negative effects, such as cancer, but also good effects, like blue eyes for humans.
Mutations can be caused by toxins, chemicals, or radiation.
Mutations are random changes in DNA.
