Hexagon learning allows students to identify links between factors very effectively. Students categorise and link factors together for deeper understanding of the relationship between factors. I have written a detailed blogpost about hexagon learning here.

HEXAGON ESSAY-PLANNING TOOL. DRAG and DROP these hexagons into categories of your choice. You can color-code hexagons, and can create new hexagons (e.g. as titles for each group) by double-clicking anywhere on the canvas. When you are finished, you can use your work as the basis of an essay plan, presentation or project!

Hitler accused the Communists of trying to take over

Election March 1933

Nazis gained more seats in the Reichstag

Nazis still did not have two thirds majority needed

Communists had 81 seats

The Enabling Act

Hitler wanted the Reichstag to give him power for 4 years without consent of the Reichstag

The communist party was banned

The Nazis gained the 81 Communist seats in the Reichstag

The SA surrounded the Reichstag building and the Nazis one the vote 444 votes to 94

Once Hitler had the Enabling Act passed he removed further opposition

Trade Unions were banned

State Parliaments were closed down

All other rival political parties were banned
