They believed in the 'Elysian Fields'.
Revealing a secret to a non initiated person was a capital crime (Punishable by death).
Holds high status as a religious institute of Athens.
2 Ceremonies took place a year (Lesser mysteries in the spring) (Great mysteries in the autumn)

MYST - A person wishing to be initiated
ELYSIAN FIELDS - Mythical place, Conception of after life initially reserved for gods, heroes and immortals.
HIEROPHANT - Leading priest at the eleusinian mysteries (Always drawn from the Eumolpidae family).
KYKEON - Brew made from barley and pennyroyal which is said to have psychotropic effects.
