* Like any other story a play has a conflict that either the main characters has a problem they face in the story
* The structure goes like this
* Exposition : Characters and conflict are introduced
* Complication : Tension builds
* Climax: point of highest tension;actions determines how the conflicts will be resolved
* Then finally the Resolution the conflict will has been resolved and then the play will end
Tragedy
* A Tragedy can be way to end a play by someone losing somebody in the end or someone getting killed as a result of something that happen during the play
* Usually the protagonist is the most classic tragic hero

Comedy and modern day comedy
* comedy is used in plays to get some laughs through out the play and comedy can also be used to end a play on a good ending
* Comic always happens before the conflict is resolved
* In modern comedies the genders plot is sometimes reversed at times
Modern drama
* Modern day dramas usually have really long flashbacks, music and visual and projections of a character's of private thoughts
* Also modern day still have the something's like the old ones but sometimes they have a mixture of both things
performance of a play
* Remember when reading a play always know that it's suppose to be acted out
* Playwright setting describe actions for the character or the manners of an character
* Theater artists bring the playwright's vision to life on stage
* If you didn't know Theater artists are Actors,Directors, Lighting Technicians, and the Stage crew
setting the stage
* Setting the stage is basically but putting all the props, lighting, costumes, and etc. And putting all the proper things is place
* A stage might be realistic and detailed or it could be abstract and minimal.
The characters
* Characters may have different forms they could take for example Dialogue conversations on a stage
* monologue: long speech given by one character to others
* Soliloquy: Speech by a characters alone onstage to himself or to the audience
The Audience
* And finally your going to need have an audience or else whats the point of making a play if no one is going to see it
* A play needs the the audience to experience the performance, understand the story, and also respond to the characters
