castle hoff

The surface of castle hoff is about 50 hectares, and
is located in the east of Austria .the castle was built as hunting lodge for
prince Eugen of Savoye, Johan Lucas of Hildebrandt designed the castle . a few
years later became the castle extends with two more wings to the west .more
than 800 workers worked on the garden and the farm.

The castle consisted of 13 rooms with a lot of wall
paintings.

When prince Eugen of Savoye passed away inherited his
niece Anna Victoria of Savoye –Soissons al his possessions in 1736.

She became the richest woman from Europe. 2 years
later she married with the 18 years younger prince Joseph Friederich of
Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Anna Victoria gave the castle to her husband. After
their divorce the castle belongs to Joseph Friederich. In 1755 had Joseph
Friederich sold the castle to Maria Theresia, she gave it to her husband. They
renovated the whole castle. In 1770, the castle was extended with 1 floor for
rooms. After the dead of Maria and her husband, their children didn’t have
interest in the castle.

In 1998, had emperor Franz Joseph changed the complex
in to a place where the army can practiced and he gave the command to build two
indoor riding arenas.

When the army didn’t practice in the castle, the
government refurbished it in the way how it is looking now.

the building with the golden roof

The art house is
a part of the museum complex Universalmuseum Joanneum and it was built in 2003.
This museum stands in the middel of the historic centre, when you walk through
the centre i’m sure that you see
it. That is why it has become the symbol from the city. The art house is designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier from London.
They call the art house the friendly alien.

The Hunderwasser
house is in Vienna at the westside
of the centre. it’s an apartment
complex were people life so you kan only see the outside. When you see it from
above you see a lot of green, because there are 200 trees on the roof. every
time you look you see somting new on the building. You can see the influences
from gaudi and the art nouveau movement, for example the round shapes and the
gold and silver ceramics.

The abby in Milk

The baroque abbey in the little city Milk has a lot of courtyards, wall paintings and
beautiful sculptures. because of that it looks more like a Palace. The germans
call it Stift Milk.

The abbey is one of the biggest abbeys in Austria, it is 320
meters long and has 1365 windows.
that makes it the building with the most windows in Austria.

The port was built at the old castle ruins, on every side stands a statue, one
of Leopold III and one of Coloman.
Coloman made a trip through
austria, but near by the city milk he was killed becaus of his Weird
clothes.The body hung on a tree, but there didn’t happen something with the
body. A few months later the tree
starts to bloom in the winter, and there was still nothing happened with the
body. The population concluded that it was a holy, The Babanhergers brought it
to there kastel. Because they liked the idee to have a holy on there ground. A small monastry was built in
1089. The Benedictines started to live there. The Benedictines were very rich, and they made plans to rebuild
the monatsry but this time bigger.
When the building was almost finished there was a fire, which caused that the construction was
finished in 1746.

build it is Hunderwasser, he didn’t like straight floors. But because it has
become an apartment, it had to be confortable.
Instead of sloping floors he has made the floors uneven.

The Stephansdom

It is a
catholic cathedral in Vienna. It is the biggest cathedral
from Austria. the cathedral is 107 meters long and 34 meters wide.
befor the cathedral was a cathedral it was a church, the bishop of Passau gave the assignment to build the church
the first church was finished in 1147. in 1469 has Vienna become a
diocese and the curch has become a cathedral. the archbiscop has sat there since 1723.

The highest tower is 136,7 meters high. With that it is the
8th higest church tower in the
world.
