Great Wall of China
Really long and made of stones and wood and mud. Stops invaders from the North (in theory).
Sunstone
This special rock was used from Viking times until at least the Elizabethan era to help navigators "see" where the sun was even on a cloudy day.
A Dog in a Gas Mask
It wasn't just humans and horses who needed to be protected from a potential gas attack!
A Calming Poster
In the olden days, no one was allowed to feel stressed. Not the done thing at all.
Enigma code machine
The Germans used the Enigma code to send private messages. (like battle plans)
Guy fawkes lantern
Guy Fawkes is said to have been carrying this lantern when arrested.
The Fighting Temeraire
The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her last berth to be broken up, 1838 is an oil painting by the English artist J. M. W. Turner. HMS Temeraire was one of the last second-rate ships of the line to have played a distinguished role in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. [more]

Ophelia
Ophelia is a painting by British artist Sir John Everett Millais, completed between 1851 and 1852. It depicts Ophelia, a character from Hamlet, singing before she drowns in a river in Denmark. [more]
