This primary
source dates all the way back to approximately the 13th century. This
particular source is called a paiza
or paizi which is a metal plate serving as a passport. This was made for
travellers to pass by safely through the land, issued by the Mongols. From this
source, we can gather that can be of great value to an individual. We know this
is a passport as it grants safe passage when travelling. You would not want to
get caught without one. We learn of type of system Mongolians used for their
travels, that you could not come and go as you feel to do so. As well as the
symbols on the paiza, having some sort of significance. This source is not
biased, as there is nothing to contrast it too. I’m sure every civilisation
would have some sort of document or passport for travelling. It is a
trustworthy source as we know it is of Mongolian background, and used for
travels. I believe there is nothing untrustworthy about it.
