The Lakota Indian Tribe were one of the tribes that were moved from their homeland and put into a reserve. The Indian tribe was used to being nomads and hunters for animals such as buffalo. The Lakota Indians got sick and tired of staying in one place because they were used to being able to move about freely so they tried to fight back against the government and it did not end well for the Indians.
Ulysses S Grant
Ulysses S Grant was the general for the northern states during the Civil War between the north and south. After the North won the war, he eventually then became the 18th president of the United States. He became the president due to his great force and achievements as General during the war.
Harriet Beecher Stowe
Harriet Beecher Stowe starts off our journey through the Museum of US History kids because Harriet was an important part of the movement to end slavery. She was and author and she wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin so that the people who lived in the north of America could understand what African Americans were going through in the southern states. She was a part of the reason that more began to believe that slavery was horrifying and wrong.

William Howard Taft enforced a form of American foreign policy to further its aims in Latin America and East Asia through use of its economic power by guaranteeing loans made to foreign countries.

The Emancipation Proclamation was a proclamation made by President Abraham Lincoln to end slavery. What encouraged him to end slavery was the amount that he saw with his own eyes and because of the help of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s book Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
