This source is a receipt from the sale of 2 slaves, Jane aged 18, her son Henry aged 1 and all her future children on the 20th of December 1849. This source suggests that slavery is wrong because they treated the slaves like commodities. The receipt also guaranteed that the buyer would have ownership of any of her children born in the future. The buyer was Judge S. Williams of Eufaula and he paid $600 for his purchase. This is evidence to support the abolition of slavery because the slaves were treated as if they were products and if they ever wanted more children, they would be born into slavery.
