In World War I, soldiers would fight from trenches. These trenches were deep and most times if a soldier went out of the trench without protection, they would be shot. Soldiers had to sleep in the trenches, eat in the trenches, use the bathroom in the trenches, basically everything was done in the trenches.
Galileo Discoveries- 1609
Galileo proved the Heliocentric Theory with his new invention, the telescope. He helped prove that the Earth and other planets revolve around the sun. He tried to publish a few books, however the church rejected them and ended up putting Galileo into house arrest. After his death in 1642, his partner published his book about the Heliocentric Theory.
Labor Unions- 1868
Labor unions started in the time of industrialism. They were formed to fight for better wages and working conditions. Workers at this time were poorly paid and the conditions they were working in could physically harm them.
Treaty That Blamed Germany- 1919
The Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919 by the Victorious Powers. This treaty blamed Germany for World War I. The treaty stated that they must pay for the damages and many other critical punishments.
The A of MAIN- 1914
Four of the underlying causes were Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism & Industrialism, and Nationalism. Alliances were part of these causes because if one of the countries that you are alliances with get into war, you are now in the war. Another cause was Industrialism because when a country is not industrialized, they will not have the advanced weapons other industrialized counties would have giving them a disadvantage.
