This is an iron pot from Nubia. Nubia is a region along the Nile river, south of Egypt. It was one of the earliest civilizations of ancientAfrica, starting in the 6000s(bc). Iron was first made here in Meroe.

This is a sliver coin from Aksum with the Ruler of the time. Aksum was located in East Africa. Around 1000 b.c traders started to settle along the banks of the Red Sea. Aksum controlled a trade network from The Mediterranean Sea to India. Christianity traveled on the trade routes.

These are knives form the Ancient Kingdom of Kilwa. Kings grew rich from trade. People entering the city had to pay huge taxes, and the kings grew rich. They used monsoon wind to trade and travel. China brought clothes, silk, wheat, bread, spears, knives, and porcelain to coast. The Portuguese conquered the kingdom of Kilwa.
Zimbabwe
This is gold from Zimbabwe. South from East African city states, Zimbabwe reached it's peak in 1300. They had 200 gigantic stone buildings built by hand. Gold was their main export.
