Young people
Hitler tried to make sure that children were loyal to him. He made them believe his beliefs such as the aryan race is the best and the jews and communists are bad. All young Germans were taught to see Hitler as a father figure who should be given unquestioned loyalty from his people.
Hitler made a program called the Hitler youth. In 1938, eight million children were in the Hitler youth. They had to join clubs and organisations that taught them military skills and taught them to be loyal to Hitler. There were 5 groups Pimpfen (The Little Fellows), Jungvolk (The Young Folk), Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth,)Bund Deutsche Madel (League of German Girls) and Jungmadelbund ( Young Girls)
Young people attended training camps and went for weekend trips. Every child had a ‘performance book’ in which they got marks for things they did e.g fighting, athletics. Children who got the best marks were sent to special schools where they were trained to be the “leaders of the future”. These ‘Adolf Hitler Schools’ took boys from the Jungvolk gave them six years of tough training before sending them on to university of the army.
The top pupils went to schools called Order Castles where they were they were tested to their limits. These students did rough things like doing things in the middle of the night and even playing wargames with live ammunition. They were trained to be swift, tough and hard.
Students were also taught a Nazi curriculum. They were taught things such as Germany needed more land in geography, In biology they taught the children how there are pure races and older students were taught on selecting a right partner to marry and have kids with. They taught that inter racial marriages were bad and that racial purity would not stay. Science was taught with a military perspective and in history jews and other nations were blamed for bad things that had happened to Germany.
