Alexis Watts Digital Media Final: 3D Gallery

During this lesson we were talking about intellectual property and how to protect it. I chose this because intellectual property can easily be stolen because of the fact that it’s not actually written on paper. It was easy and effective, I learned that in order to protect your property you will have to write it down and have it patented. This way people can’t steal and say that it’s theirs while knowing it’s not.

Activity 1.3

During this activity, we were learning about being safe and cautious on the internet. Along with that, we read about different cyber events that have been happening within digital media. I chose this one because it’s sufficient information that people especially I need to know in order to keep safe and for the most part secure when online. This activity was medium. As far as searching for events and finding the required information from the article, that’s what made it sort of difficult. I learned to be careful of what you do and how you do things while using technology, more specifically online. It’s constantly evolving and you need to know as much as possible to be able to watch out for certain things.

Career Project

While doing this project we were learning about the different careers that are in the digital media field. I chose this project because it really made me open to some options if I ever wanted a second career in life. This project in particularly was simple and to the point. I learned that most if not all of the technological jobs are good paying.

Activity 4.2

In this activity we were learning about the different elements of photography. We were learning about framing, leading lines, cropping, directional lighting etc and these things were put to use while creating this activity. I chose this because I liked this lesson and it gave me valuable information when taking pictures. This was fairly easy to do. All we did was take pictures that went along with the techniques. One thing I learned was that taking a photo can be so much more creative than taking one of a person.

Checkpoint 2.1

Chapter 6 (photoshop)

During this project we were learning the basics to photoshopping on a Mac computer. I chose this because this one is my favorite activity and I feel as though I’ll use this in the future. Understanding the way each technique works really makes it simple and easy to add each to the picture. Something I’ve learned was how to change straighten, and do spot/heal on a photo. Learning this really helps me if I have to edit something in the future.

Activity 2.3

While doing this activity, we were learning about making ethical decisions and whether you are making the right one throughout. I chose this one because this is crucial to know what you are doing and what choices you are making in life and or in the digital world. This activity was easy. All we had to do to complete this was create a table and tell whether you made a good choice and whether or not it affected you or the people around you. One thing I learned was to be careful of what you choose to do because you never know how it will affect people.

Lesson 1.4

During this lesson I learned the different techniques that you would use to avoid certain injuries, or just are good habits to form while working in the digital media field. I chose this lesson because I enjoyed learning the basics of digital media. It was very easy and beneficial to me in terms of being productive and learning different ways to keep injuries from bad habits away.

M6 Strategy Interview Do Now

In this do now we were creating questions that formed around the chapter 1. I chose this because it made me think about some good questions to ask about file saving, cyber predators etc. I learned how to ask questions and make the person think and provide decent answers that met each point in the question.

Lesson 4.2 Vocabulary

In this lesson we created a study set on quizlet for the vocabulary in chapter 4 just to get a good understanding of what was going on in the chapter, so everything won’t look foreign to us. I chose this one because I liked taking the words out of the book and making the study set so if I ever needed another look at things, I could just open quizlet instead of going throughout the book. One thing I learned was the words that had to do with taking photos.
