Gladius is Latin word for sword, and represented the primary sword of Ancient Roman foot soldiers. This was the very prototype of weapon of ancient Europe. The weapons during this time were pretty precise, but they were mostly for close-ranged combats.
Byzantine Empire(early medieval times)
The weapons during Byzantine Empire were usually designed for close-ranged weapons. These were mainly long swords, ax, maces, etc.. There were crossbows, which were wide-ranged compared to most of the weapons during this time.
These weapons had more variety and were more effective and harmful compared to the ancient timed weapons.
Medieval Times(mid-late medieval)
The weapons during Medieval Times were not much different from Byzantine Times. Although during Middle Ages had various battles, there were minimum changes in weapons. Instead, most battles were based on tactics rather than well-developed weapons.
Firearms
During early modern Europe, firearms were invented. This was the start of more complexed weapons. This allowed wide-ranged combats, but these were not effective as much as the modern guns now.
Tanks
Tanks were developed during WWI. Starting from WWI, the importance of advanced weapons started to get highlighted. The tanks were able to move around in wide areas and attack enemies on ground. It had artillery gun in order to attack.

Submarine
The submarines were also invented during WWI, allowing soldiers to communicate underwater without getting detected by enemies. This can also encrypt enemies' messages, allowing to interpret their tactics.

Machine Guns
This was the advanced version of prototype guns. Machine guns were deadly because it can shoot hundreds of ammunition in a minute. This led to increased number of death in general during WWI, and were main killers of the war.(WWI)
Fighter Planes
This is an aircraft developed during WWII for air-to-air combat with others. They were normally used to attack ground targets. During WWII, achieving and maintaining air superiority was key component of victory in warfare, particularly conventional warfare between regular armies.

German Tanks
The German Tanks were well developed during WWII compared to its enemies, allowing them to give their enemies massive loss. They were also automated, so it was able to operate faster compared to the ones developed during WWI.
Radar&Sonar
Radar was a device used to spot enemy airplanes, ships and submarines which was developed by British and American scientists.
Sonar was originally acronym of "Sound Navigation And Ranging".
It is a sound propagation to navigate, communicate with or detect other vessels.
