The Story of Nastagio Degli Onesti, part one is a painting by Italian artist Sandro Botticelli and his workshop in 1483. The story, set in Boccaccio’s Decameron in the pine forest of Classe, tells of the punishment beyond the grave that can be visited also on the living: a knight from hell pursues a young girl guilty, while alive, of mocking the man who loved her and eventually driving him to commit suicide.
