This battle took place in Virginia of 1864. It lasted from May 8-21. This was a win for the Union. The Union army adopted aggressive fighting tactics of war. The war was now in favor of the Union.
Sherman's March to the Sea
This took place in Georgia of 1864. It lasted from November 15- December 21.This was a win for the Union. General Sherman pushed the Confederates down through Georgia. He pushed them away from Atlanta. This meant that the Union was able to capture Atlanta. This was a significant win.
Battle of Appomattox Courthouse
This was the battle that brought the war to an end. It happened in Virginia of 1865. It took place on April 9. General Lee surrendered to General Grant. This ended the Civil War.
