When it came to theatre, Cabaret shows were the main craze in Germany in 1923. These shows were usually held in night clubs or restaurants, whilst the audince ate and drank at their tables. This image was taken from a movie about cabaret called "The Blue Angel" with Marlene Dietrich. The writter of this movie is actually against facism, so maybe he was trying to mock or provoke the conservatives.
