The steam engine was created 1775 by James Watt. The engine was an vacuum or atmospheric engine using steam at a pressure just above atmospheric to create a partial vacuum beneath the piston.
Steam engines at the time were inefficient until James Watt made his version of the steam engine. His steam engine was more efficient and it was cheaper.
Spinning Jenny
The Spinning Jenny was made by James Hargreaves in 1764. The Spinning Jenny allowed workers to spin more wool at a time.
Because of this, factories in the textile business were able to get more money. The spinning Jenny also decreased the amount labor needed in said factories.
Cotton Gin
The Cotton Gin or gin for short, was created by Eli Whitney in 1794. This sparked a major growth in the cotton industry and removed the need to remove cotton seeds by hand.
Not only did it spark a growth in the cotton industry but it removed the need for more labor in factories.
Locomotive
Richard Trevithick’s locomotive was made in 1802. The design incorporated a single horizontal cylinder enclosed in a return-flue boiler. A flywheel drove the wheels on one side through spur gears, and the axles were mounted directly on the boiler, with no frame.
The locomotive was mainly used for mining transportation and allowed for mining operations to go quicker.
Type writer
The typewriter was made by William Austin Burt in 1829. This version of the typewriter used a dial to select characters instead of keys. This however made it slower than writing.
While it wasn’t the most efficient invention, it created a baseline for later inventions of the typewriter.
Tin Can
The tin can was invented in 1810 by Peter Durand. The tin can is made for storing food in it. It is in a cylinder shape.
The tin can allows for easy storage and transportation of food. It would also have a huge impact of the preservation of food.
Cement/Concrete
Cement or concrete was invented in 1824 by Joseph Aspdin.The the cement was made by sintering a mixture of clay and limestone to around a 1,400 degree centigrade.
This new creation led to a new way of making buildings(the picture as an example) and allowing for roads to be more durable and not be made of dirt and gravel.
Gas lamp
the gas lamp was invented by William Murdoch in 1792. This lamp uses coal gas to be lit and was commonly used in London and the United States.
This allowed for streets to be lit at night allowing for people to see when it was dark.
