The Christian crusades were a series of "attacks" that were sent to reclaim the Holy Land from Muslim forces. The Battles soon brought the need for new trade routes,ware,and goods into western Europe.

The crusades did bring a lot of trade which was beneficial. Europe had finally opened up to the outside world, however they did this at the wrong time. The Black Death found its way into Europe because of the Trade routes. The disease would soon kill around 1/3 of the population.

The Crusades brought upon both death and trade. These two kinda leveled out each other but the one major thing they did was that they brought enemies of the Church and Western Europe under the Christian Banner.

The renaissance was a "rebirth" in both culture, medicine, and life in the middle ages, the interest in Greek culture and literature arose.

Changes in agriculture resulted in a surplus of food, the surplus encouraged the growth of towns and of markets, the need for labor gave serfs more mobility and the ability to bargain with the lords.

Lords and their armies of the Crusades brought back spices and silk. The silk road remained operational, as did the sea routes along the Indian and Mediterranean.
