Josephine Baker was born on June 3rd, 1906 and died April 12th, 1975. She was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. She made the journey of the Great Migration into Harlem. Josephine Baker was most influential for being the first black woman to become a world-famous entertainer. She also is known for being a fashion trendsetter. Later in her life, she contributed to the African American Civil Rights movement and is known for refusing to perform for segregated audiences.
