The Cold war started because the Soviet Union and the United States were having issues agreeing on things. The only thing that the Soviets and the US were disagreeing on was weather or not communists were good or not.
THE BAY OF PIGS:
The Bay of Pigs was a failed military invasion. They were a group of Cuban exiles trained by no one other than the CIA. It was funded and directed by the US government. And they had very poor conditions.
CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS:
It was a confrontation between the Soviet Union and the United states. It was the closest that we have gotten to a nuclear crisis. The soviets saw it as an opportunity to get on Cubans good side.
THE BERLIN WALL
The Berlin walls main purpose was to separate. It was built to keep refugees out, and to separate East and West Berlin. It was opened in 1989.
HIROSHIMA
They deployed the first atomic bomb over the Japanese city. When it exploded it wiped out over 90% of the city. And almost immediately killed over 80,000 people on impact.
THE KOREAN WAR:
The reason the the Korean war started was because the Korean communists crossed into the non-Korean-Communist territory. In the end the US came to the aid of south Korea.
THE FALL:
THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL!
The Berlin wall was finally brought down in November 1991.
On November 9th the citizens heard the news and jumped the wall and were reunited with their friends and family that were on the other side of the wall.
IRON CURTAIN:
The iron curtain was a boundary line that was made up by the Soviet union to basically separate themselves from their rivals. To set them apart from the east and the west.
THE MARSHAL PLAN:
The Marshal plan basically came to the aid of all economic recovery after WWll and to make communist influences as little as possible. It ended up being the most successful foreign aid programs ever.

THE END!
The cold war ended with the fall of the iron curtain. What signified the end of the cold war? It was with the fall of the Berlin wall when people understood that the cold war was over.
