This is a political cartoon of the Cuban missile crisis. Khrushchev and Kennedy secretly negotiated the removal of Cuban missiles. This allowed america to be safe again.

The cold war started by the soviet union and Americans trying to see which country is better. They showed off their technological advancements.

This is a picture of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon for the first time. He is the first man on the moon ever. We beat Russia in this part of the space race.

The Americans created a lot of safety videos and kids. This was created to make people feel more safe with the nuclear war threat. It was animated so it would appeal to children.

This is a picture showing the Americans as a brave eagle and the soviets as an evil bear. They are competing against each other to see who is better. They are on opposite sides because they do not agree with each other.
Arms Race
One of the major parts of the cold war is the arms race. This is where the Americans and the Soviets made a bunch of nuclear bombs and weapons. They never used and of these weapons and they were only threats.
The Iron wall
The Iron wall Was supposed to be a figurative line where people would not attack each other. Europe however did not follow this. This is a picture of Europe not following this and trying to sneak across the wall.
Nuclear Destruction
Everyone was building nuclear bombs to have the bigger and better weapon. This started to go out of control with all of the nuclear bombs being made. If this would have continued there would have been a full on nuclear war.
The Iron Curtain
The Iron Curtain is the figurative line where people agreed to be peaceful. This does not actually exist it is just figurative. No one followed this rule and they were still hostile to each other
