John F Kennedy Speech
US president John F Kennedy delivered the best-known anti-communist speech on June 26, 1963, in West Berlin. The president electrified the crowd as he paid tribute to Berliners and their hope for freedom. Ending his speech with "Ich bin ein Berliner," meaning 'I am a Berliner.'
Consequences
Many problems and faults were brought after the division of the East and West of Berlin. The 'Iron Curtain' caused families having to split, jobs being lost and children not being able to go to schools on the other side. Many deaths were added to the mixture of problems as many citizens of the East of Berlin attempted to climb the wall. This caused many to dislike The Berlin Wall.
